BELVA DEVARA

Adamas Belva Syah Devara or usually called Belva Devara is a young entrepreneurs engaged in education. He known as Founder and CEO the biggest startup company in education and technology, Ruangguru. Belva Devara is a double degree alumni from Harvard University and Stanford University.

Belva Devara was born in Jakarta on Mei 30^th 1990. Since childhood he has shown his interest in education. He is well known as someone who is intelligent with a level of intelligence above friends of his age. Proven by his achievements and his score always on the first rank.

Belva Devara studied at Al-Azhar Junior High School and Presiden Senior High School which is an international semi-military school. When he was in Senior High School, he was chosen as chairman of student council. After he graduated from Presiden Senior High School, he continued his school to Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Amazingly, he got full scholarship from Singapore Government to school there. That made him as the first Indonesian to be accepted into double degree program in NTU. Not only that, during his college, Belva won many awards, one of them is on Double Dean,’s List Belva Devara listed as one of 5% of the best college student and he is the recipient of Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal.

In 2013, He decided to continued his school. He got full scholarship from LPDP on double degree program in Harvard and Stanford which is one of the best University in the world. He majored in Master of Public Administration in Harvard and Master of Business Administration in Stanford. Beside that, he was cross registered with other faculties at Harvard University, Harvard Law School, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard Graduate School of Education. Because his achievement in academy, he was chosen tobe a guest student at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) which is also the best University in the world.

After he graduate from his school in Singapore, he worked as management consultant at Mc Kinsey & Company. In 2012, he crowned as the best management consultant in Southeast Asia. With his experiences, he tried to made education in Indonesia better with established Ruangguru with his friend, Muhammad Iman Usman. After he graduated from double degree programin USA, He came back to Indonesia to developed Ruangguru. Under his leadership, Ruangguru is developing very rapidly. Until now, Ruangguru  has become the biggest technology company in Indonesia. Ruangguru has reached more than 10 million students and 150.000 teachers. For his success in leading Ruangguru, he received a lot of national and international awards. Such as he became one of the 30 most successful youth under the age of 30 in the technology entrepreneurship in Asia by Forbes Magazine and one of the 40 most influent youth under the age of 40 in ASEAN. Now he often attends various forum and become a speaker such as in Barcelona he become a speaker at Ministerial Programme of Mobile World Congress 2018, World Economics Forum on ASEAN 2018 in Vietnam, Global Education Technology (GET) Summit 2017 in Beijing,  and more.
